Album: Heathen Chemistry (Japanese version - bonus track)
Submitted by: Greg Powles (greg.powles@virgin.net)
I stumbled across the chorus when I was writing an original song and
spent an afternoon working out the rest. It's my first submission so I'd
welcome any comments/improvements, but I'm really pleased with it. I
apologise for not being sure of certain chord names - please feel free to
e-mail me with corrections, or just add your comments to this file and
submit it yourselves.
Enjoy and Exist...
CHORDS USED:
G - 320033
Em - 022033
Dsus4- 000233
Cadd9- 032033
C - 032010
Am - 002210
??? - 200233
D - 000232
C+? - 332010
INTRO
G - (then quickly Em - Dsus4- Cadd9 - back to G) x2
VERSE 1:
G Em
You're never... thinking out loud
G Em
You're never... stuck in that crowd
C G
so you call out... ..ever exist
C Am
but don't be.. your bones and..
D Cadd9 ???
Come on.. my brothers and sisters
CHORUS:
G - D - C D G
You can only be what you are
D - C - D Am C
and you've got the heart of a star, and the light never hits you..
D Cadd9 ???
Come on.... brothers and sisters
VERSE 2: As Verse 1
REPEAT CHORUS:
INSTRUMENTAL:
Unless you have a brass band handy, it's hard to match the recording. I
play it as below, but play around with the fingering on the Em chord to
change the way it sounds, and hold the G chord before entering the MIDDLE
section.
G - ??? - Cadd9 - Em x3
G
MIDDLE:
C Am
And the slower... the greener..
C Am C+?
and what we all need is love in our lives
C Am
so go about... coz life ain't..
D Cadd9 ???
come on.. brothers and sisters.
REPEAT CHORUS
Then you basically play the chorus over and over until you decide to
finish. I personally end with an Am - C - G, but maybe you'll find your
own preference. It also sounds nice to play out the repeats of
'..brothers and sisters' with G - Dsus4 - Cadd9 - Dsus4, rather than the
more basic G - D - C - D, but again its up to you. Noel is God. Live
Forever...
